Samantha Gibb, LICSW

Clinical Director & Supervisor

What kind of supervision do you offer?

I provide trauma-informed clinical supervision and consultation for graduate and licensed mental health clinicians in Washington and Utah. My approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that good supervision supports both clinical skill and the humanity of the clinician. Supervision with me emphasizes thoughtful case conceptualization, reflective practice, identity-affirming care, and working competently with trauma, dissociation, anxiety, and complex clinical presentations.

What is the focus of supervision?

Supervision is a space for honest conversation, skill development, and support that reduces shame rather than reinforces it. I work with clinicians who want to deepen their clinical thinking, strengthen their confidence in the therapy room, and develop a grounded, ethical approach to complex work. This includes attention to pacing, attunement, and the relational dynamics that emerge in trauma-focused care.

What clinical frameworks inform your supervision?

My clinical orientation is integrative and relational, grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw from EMDR, ego state and parts-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment theory, and psychodynamic perspectives. In supervision, these frameworks are used not as rigid techniques, but as tools for deepening conceptualization, clinical judgment, and responsiveness to complexity.

What is your supervision style like?

I emphasize reflective practice over performance and curiosity over certainty. Rather than teaching clinicians to follow scripts, I support the development of an authentic, grounded clinical voice that can flex with the needs of the client. Supervision is collaborative and dialogical, with space to think together, ask hard questions, and integrate learning in a way that feels sustainable over time.

Who is supervision with you a good fit for?

Supervision with me is well suited for clinicians who want a relational, trauma-informed approach and are interested in working thoughtfully with trauma, dissociation, anxiety, and identity-related concerns. I work with clinicians at different stages of training and licensure who value depth, integrity, and support that honors both clinical responsibility and the person doing the work.
