Understanding Fees & Insurance

This page provides clear information about insurance, fees, and billing at Shoreview Psychotherapy. Our goal is to make the practical side of care as straightforward and transparent as possible, so you can focus on what matters most.

Insurance

We are in-network with Anthem, Regence, Premera, Lifewise and Kaiser of Washington. We are also able to provide out of network billing support with all other insurances in Washington.

Shoreview Psychotherapy provides virtual therapy for clients in Washington and accepts insurance. Coverage and benefits vary by plan, and your out-of-pocket cost may include a copay, coinsurance, or deductible depending on your specific policy.
We encourage clients to contact their insurance provider directly to understand their benefits. Our billing team is also available to help clarify insurance-related questions once you are established as a client.

Insurance participation can change over time. Please reach out to confirm current coverage. While we do everything we can to make sure we are providing accurate information regarding in-network coverage by checking benefits before your first session, it is ultimately your responsibility to confirm that we take your insurance
Standard Fees & Insurance Billing

Shoreview Psychotherapy’s standard session fee billed to insurance is $265 for an initial session and $215 for ongoing 55-minute sessions. These rates are used for billing and reimbursement purposes.

For clients using insurance, the amount you are responsible for paying is determined by your individual insurance plan and may include a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Most clients do not pay the full billed rate.

For clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance, a cash-pay discount is often offered depending on the client's individual needs/circumstance. Self-pay fees are discussed transparently prior to scheduling to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected costs. Lower-cost options and sliding scale may be available and fees may vary by provider and service.
No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of therapy services.
A Good Faith Estimate outlines anticipated charges for services and can be requested before scheduling or at any point during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is significantly higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges through the appropriate process.
Shoreview Psychotherapy is committed to transparency and will work with you to ensure you understand fees and billing before services begin.
Self-Pay & Additional Care Options

The standard fee for therapy at Shoreview Psychotherapy is $265 for the initial session and $215 for ongoing sessions.
We offer self-pay services for clients who are uninsured or who prefer not to use insurance. For clients who choose not to involve insurance at all, a reduced cash-pay rate may be available. These rates vary depending on provider, availability, and individual circumstances. Interns and associate clinicians often offer lower self-pay rates.
Fees are discussed transparently before scheduling, and a Good Faith Estimate outlining anticipated costs is available upon request, in accordance with federal guidelines.
Limited flexibility may be available depending on provider availability, scheduling needs, and individual circumstances.
Lower-fee therapy options may also be available with clinical interns who are closely supervised by licensed clinicians. Availability varies, and intern services can be a good option for clients seeking more affordable care while still receiving high-quality, supervised treatment.
Insurance Claims, Billing & Payment

Shoreview Psychotherapy partners with Birdseye Billing Company to manage insurance claims, statements, and payment-related questions. This allows our clinicians to remain focused on clinical care while billing is handled accurately and responsibly.
You may occasionally receive communication from our third-party billing service regarding insurance, statements, or payment details.
Billing information, payment policies, and instructions for accessing support are provided through the client portal and during the intake process.
If you have questions about billing or payment, you’re welcome to reach out. You may also send a secure message through your client portal regarding billing concerns, and our billing service can respond directly when appropriate.
