Samantha Gibb, LICSW

Clinical Director & Supervisor, Therapist

I’m Samantha Gibb, LICSW, Founder and Clinical Director of Shoreview Psychotherapy. I’m a trauma-focused therapist and clinical supervisor who believes healing happens best in relationship, with care that is grounded, flexible, and responsive to the real complexity of being a person.

I specialize in working with clients who have experienced complex trauma and dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder. I have also received specialized training in gender-affirming care and in working with the trans community. Though I do have special interests and specialties as a therapist, at my core I am a generalist and have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and religious trauma. I take an integrative approach that blends evidence-based therapy with intuitive and holistic practices when they meaningfully support healing.

Clinical Supervision Group Cohort starting March 5, 2026 - 1:1 Clinical Supervision spots available now

My Story

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Utah, with over a decade of experience across medical, outpatient, and inpatient mental health settings.

Before entering social work, I spent seven years working in the medical field. That experience gave me a deep understanding of healthcare systems, as well as a clear view of their limitations when care becomes rigid or overly procedural. This background continues to shape my integrative, flexible approach to therapy.

Education and Licensure

  • Master of Social Work, University of Denver

  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology, University of Utah

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Washington

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Utah

Clinical Background

My clinical experience spans a range of settings and levels of care, including:

  • Outpatient private practice

  • Psychiatric hospital work with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness

  • Clinical leadership roles, including Clinical Director of an inpatient psychiatric hospital in McCleary, Washington

  • Group and private practice work with Corner Canyon Counseling in Utah and Sokya Health in Washington

I founded Shoreview Psychotherapy to create a practice rooted in relational, trauma-informed, and identity-affirming care for both clients and clinicians.

Therapeutic Approach

My work is trauma-focused and deeply relational. I support clients navigating trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, and identity-related concerns using an integrative blend of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • EMDR

  • Ego State Therapy

  • Psychodynamic therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Clinical Hypnosis

  • Mindfulness-informed interventions

I am trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and a certified mindfulness-informed clinician. For clients who are interested, I also integrate holistic and intuitive practices, including Reiki, in a grounded and client-centered way. These modalities are always offered collaboratively and never imposed.

Supervision and Consultation

In addition to therapy, I provide clinical supervision and consultation for mental health professionals.

  • Washington State Approved Supervisor

  • Supervision offered in Washington and Utah

  • Individual and group supervision available

My supervision style is relational, collaborative, and anti-oppressive, with a focus on trauma-informed care, dissociation, identity-affirming practice, and helping clinicians develop confidence, presence, and authenticity in the therapy room.

A Note on My Work

At the core of my practice is a commitment to care, both for clients seeking healing and for clinicians building their capacity to support others. I believe deeply in the impact of thoughtful, well-supported clinical work and the ripple effect it creates beyond any single therapy relationship.
